I was thinking of the phrase “whistle while you work”, and so you hear this little whistling melody in the intro. What are we all whistling?
The tune of money, of course.
This song is about: once you realize, all of us do at some point, that the world has come to care more for money than they do about the human condition, what then?
What do you do with this information? How will you live?
You could start second guessing everything– Like whether or not to finish the food on your plate. But what good will that do? The meal is already so many abstractions away from the earth within it. I hope you realize that too. There is a story of money in there, and it has to do with how that food ended up on your plate.
Let’s say you become a monk. Or a nun. Start seeking a vision of what someone else has taught you is divine. You may have evaded the direct search for money, but is this way of living better off for your human conditions?
Remember. Be Here Now.
What is your experience now? Are you a mouse in a maze? I don’t mean to accuse, but as you know– there are distractions everywhere, so it’s worth asking yourself the question. Do you “Get It?”
Money has become quite the maze these days…
So let us make it simple, in case you haven’t gotten it:
Let go of all the money
Look up, surely it’s sunny
On other sides of those things
That you don’t own
(like the clouds in the sky)
or (the end of your life)So wake up. Let it begin.
Discover all we’ve been…
Discover all that we’ve built…Can you hear thunder in the distance?
“Get It?” is the 2nd song from The Dotted Line.
